Arsenal's Alexandre Lacazette is out for up to 6 six weeks, has worst year in last 5 and worst miss in an Arsenal shirt all in 3 days.

Lacazette's miss in stoppage time has to be his worst miss in an Arsenal shirt, coming off of the January transfer window in which it was rumored he didn't understand Auba's signing it seemed a definite low for the Frenchman.  The press immediately began questioning his confidence, which was also questioned during the live commentary by Lee Dixon.  One bad miss can happen to any striker but comparing the cool finish by Aubameyang against Everton and Lacazette's miss on Saturday is striking.  What an emotional and mental burden to fail under the pressure and significance of stealing a point in the derby again Spurs and the disappointment felt by Gooners everywhere watching the ball run wide of goal. That was Saturday.  Today, we find out Lacazette could be out until April which would leave him with only 6 premier league games and possibly only playing in Europa League again should Arsenal get to the quarterfinals.   In the last 4 seasons with Lyon Lacazette scored over 20 goals, this year he has only 9 and will be doing well to get to 15 overall goals.  That's massively disappointing for the man who was Arsenal's record signing for less than a full season.  There is plenty of time for him to recover and train before the World Cup but could this jeopardize his selection with the French squad?  France's team are very talented, this year Lacazette is facing competition from Griezmann, Mbappe, Martial, Giroud, Payet, and Dembele (Benzema's troubles are well documented). Coming into the World Cup having your confidence questioned, undergoing knee surgery and putting up the worst numbers in the last 5 years makes for a bleak few months before playing in what should be France's best squad since 2006.
